Kate Wells

Public Health Reporter

Kate Wells is a seasoned public health reporter currently working for NPR and Kaiser Health News since September 2020, where coverage includes reproductive rights, infectious disease, and health policy for a wide audience. In addition to this role, Kate has been reporting for Michigan Public since June 2012, contributing to statewide public health coverage while collaborating on national health reporting efforts. Prior experience includes positions at various media outlets such as Iowa Public Radio, Harvest Public Media, Texas Tribune, and New Hampshire Public Radio, building a diverse and extensive background in journalism. Kate holds a BA in Comparative Religion and Political Science from Principia College, earned in 2010.
