Katherine Simon is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in producing and editing content across various platforms. Currently serving as Supervising Editor at NPR since February 2022, Katherine has also held the interim position of Senior Supervising Producer for TED Radio Hour. Previously, Katherine was the Senior Supervising Producer and Managing Editor for NPR Music's Jazz Night in America, a program co-created that received a Peabody Award nomination for showcasing top jazz musicians. Notable projects include co-creating a limited series for On the Media, focusing on America's eviction crisis, and serving as Associate Director of Content for StoryCorps, where over 250 broadcasts were produced. Early career roles at WBGO involved reporting on diverse topics such as immigration and environmental justice. Katherine holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies and Anthropology from Kenyon College, complemented by training from the Poynter Institute’s Leadership Academy for Women.
