Mike Starling

Co-founder, Counsel

Mike Starling is a seasoned professional in the field of broadcasting and media, currently serving as a Mid-Shore Pro Bono Board Member and volunteer for WHCP and the Harriet Tubman Museum since January 2021. As the founder of WHCP Radio since February 2014, Mike has a strong commitment to public service. With a rich history of leadership roles, Mike co-founded the Association of Public Radio Engineers, Inc., providing counsel to enhance public radio stations nationwide. Mike has also held significant positions at NPR Labs, driving advancements in broadcast technology, including HD Radio multicasting, and served as VP for Engineering and Operations, managing NPR's first digital audio networked system. Previous teaching roles include Adjunct Instructor at Towson University and Georgetown University. Mike’s career also includes essential engineering and management positions at KPBS-FM and valuable contributions to several broadcasting organizations. Mike holds a BSL and JD in Law from National University.
