Nick Michael

Supervising Editor, Visuals

Nick Michael has over a decade of experience in video content strategy and production, currently serving as Supervising Editor for Visuals at NPR since June 2014, where responsibilities include shaping video strategy for a vast audience. Previously, Nick held the role of Senior Editor for Visuals, co-creating a pilot methodology for short-form video series that achieved over 1 billion views across multiple platforms. Further contributions to NPR included directing video programming for Jazz Night in America, which received a Peabody nomination. Prior to NPR, Nick co-founded 1504, producing impactful video content for notable clients such as The American Red Cross and managing various aspects of project execution. Additionally, Nick has taught journalism and mass communications at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Missouri. Nick holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Harding University and a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
