Oliver Wang

Oliver Wang is a Project Curator at the Japanese American National Museum, focusing on the "Cruising J-Town: Behind the Wheel of the Nikkei Community" exhibition. Additionally, Oliver serves as a Professor of Sociology at California State University-Long Beach and has extensive experience as a columnist and contributing writer for KCET, the Los Angeles Times, and NPR. As the creator of the renowned audioblog Soul-Sides.com, Oliver explores various music genres. A public speaker since 1995, Oliver has delivered keynotes and participated in panel discussions at numerous academic institutions. Oliver also has a background as a disc jockey and has produced and co-hosted podcasts for Maximum Fun, showcasing expertise in both academic and cultural domains. Oliver earned a PhD in Ethnic Studies and a BA in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.
