Rafael Nam

Rafael Nam is an experienced journalist with a strong background in business and political reporting. Currently serving as a Senior Editor for NPR since September 2020, Rafael oversees coverage of the economy, finance, energy, and automotive sectors. Prior to NPR, Rafael worked at The Hill as a Campaign Editor, leading coverage of national campaigns and elections. With extensive experience at Thomson Reuters over a 14-year period, Rafael held several key positions, including Chief Correspondent for Monetary Policy & Markets in India, where noteworthy work included reporting on a significant regulatory probe involving WhatsApp groups. Rafael's reporting also covered major events such as the 2013 rupee crisis and the 2016 ban on high-denomination notes.
