Razi Jafri is a documentary filmmaker and producer based in Detroit, focusing on themes such as race, religion, immigration, democracy, and human rights. Razi's notable works include “Hamtramck, USA,” which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival in 2020, and “Ashura in Detroit,” showcased at the Freep Film Festival in 2021. Currently, Razi directs “Three Chaplains,” an ITVS grantee set for a PBS national broadcast in November 2023. Razi holds a Master of Fine Arts degree and a bachelor's in engineering from the University of Michigan and has received several prestigious fellowships and grants for film and artistic projects.
