David Pinney

David Pinney is a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience in managing and delivering research projects. Currently, as a Software Engineering Manager at NRECA since July 2012, David has successfully raised over $11.7 million in research funding from various government agencies, including ARPA-E and multiple divisions of the Department of Energy. Prior to this role, David served as a Senior Beta Consultant at MicroStrategy, collaborating on R&D projects with high-profile clients such as Bank of America and Coca-Cola. David's early career includes a position as a Research Assistant at the UCLA Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics, focusing on the mathematics of hematopoiesis, and a period as a Tinkerer from 2000 to 2007.
