Lisa M. Slaughter

Lisa M. Slaughter is a seasoned Research Software Engineer and Data Scientist at NRECA since May 2020, with expertise in designing and implementing business software systems as a Freelance Technical Services Consultant since July 2018. Lisa's academic experience includes serving as Lead Teaching Assistant for the "A Path to Zero Net Energy" program at the University of California, Davis, where 35 energy-related project opportunities were evaluated. As a researcher within the Energy Conservation Office, Lisa developed a machine learning method for analyzing building occupancy using sensor data. Previous roles include Project Engineer/Project Manager at DST Controls, where computer-based solutions for critical sectors were delivered, and research positions at both California Polytechnic State University and California State University, Fullerton, focusing on physics experiments and alarm system prototypes. Lisa holds a Master of Science in Energy Systems from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from California Polytechnic State University, along with two Associate of Arts degrees from Cypress College.
