Ken Katayama

Ken Katayama serves as Senior Chief Researcher at NRI (Nomura Research Institute) since May 2021, focusing on advancing financial market infrastructures and promoting safe information technology practices through public-private collaboration. Prior roles include Associate Director-General at the Center for Financial Industry Information Systems in Japan, where Ken directed both domestic and international research projects, and Director of the International Operations Office at the same institution, leading research on global best practices in information technology for financial institutions. Ken also held various positions at NRI and its international branches, emphasizing post-trade processes, asset management, and securities services, starting as a Senior Researcher in 1989 after earning a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Waseda University.
