Ian Alker is an accomplished professional in sports management with extensive experience in the rugby sector. Currently serving as the General Manager of Strategy Implementation and Projects, as well as General Manager of Major Events at the National Rugby League since April 2018, Ian has a proven track record in leadership roles. Prior to this role, Ian worked as a consultant for JIA Management Services and held multiple general management positions at Australian Rugby Union Ltd. from 2007 to 2014, overseeing rugby operations and community initiatives. Ian's experience also includes serving as Head of Events and Operations for the 2003 Rugby World Cup and Operations Manager at the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games. Ian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Studies from the University of Canberra and completed the Higher School Certificate at The Armidale School.
