Rita Vasconcelos

Rita Vasconcelos is a seasoned professional with significant expertise in environmental science and toxicology. Currently serving as a Consultant and Technical Officer at NSG Environmental Ltd since September 2019, Rita previously held the role of PhD Student at the University of Sheffield from October 2015 to November 2019, focusing on the influence of groundwater on the mineralogy of cement for nuclear waste disposal. Prior experience includes directing the Quality Department at Scientia FCUP Junior Enterprise and completing a Master’s Dissertation at CIIMAR on the toxicological assessment of BMAA using marine invertebrates. Rita's academic qualifications include a PhD in Nuclear Waste Disposal from the University of Sheffield, a Master's in Environmental Contamination and Toxicology from the University of Porto, and a Bachelor's in Environmental Sciences and Technology from the same institution.
