Catherine Boornazian

Sign Language Teacher at NSSEO

Catherine Boornazian has extensive experience in education, particularly focused on teaching deaf students. Currently serving as a Sign Language Teacher at NSSEO since September 2011, Catherine instructs families and friends of deaf children in sign language and also held the position of Signing Teacher Assistant, providing support to deaf students with varying physical and cognitive abilities in self-contained classrooms. Prior experience includes a role as a Student Teacher at Northern Suburban Special Education District, where Catherine taught reading, language, social studies, and health to high school deaf students, as well as a Student Teacher at St. Mary's School for the Deaf, teaching art to K-12 deaf students. Catherine's educational background includes a Master of Science in Secondary Education for the Deaf in Art and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, both from Rochester Institute of Technology. Additional experience includes serving as a Student Ambassador in the Admissions Office at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf and a Graphic Design Intern at Clover Technologies Group.
