Frances Chiang is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in analysis and consulting. Currently serving as the Acting Principal Financial Analyst and Senior Financial Analyst at the Department of Justice NSW since January 2017, Frances is part of the Costings and Analysis branch focused on understanding the financial aspects of the NSW criminal justice system. Prior experience at KPMG Australia from July 2013 to January 2017 included roles as a Senior Consultant managing valuation engagements and a Consultant specializing in dispute advisory services. Additional volunteer work with International Student Volunteers in early 2012 involved community and environmental initiatives. Frances holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from The Australian National University and is a Chartered Accountant with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

The DCJ is the lead agency in the new Stronger Communities Cluster. The department enables services to better work together to support everyone's right to access justice and other help for families, and strengthen/bolster the promotion of early intervention and inclusion, with benefits for the whole community. Working together in the Stronger Communities cluster means we can continue to deliver services with a more unified and collaborative approach. There is now a greater focus on prevention and early intervention, faster responses, more seamless operations, less duplication of effort and better outcomes.
