Kurt Cheng

Kurt Cheng is a Policy Advisor at the NSW Government in the office of the Hon. Jihad Dib MP, responsible for digital government, emergency services, and youth justice since June 2023. Kurt has extensive experience with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), serving as a Council Member, Senior Tutor at the Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research, and Academic Board Member, contributing to the governance and academic standards for 45,000 students. Prior roles include Paralegal at Ashurst, Electorate Officer for notable NSW MPs, and Manager of Strategic Partnerships at EasyCompanies. Kurt is also the founder of Restore The Straw, recognized as the 2020 Young Entrepreneur of the Year by Georges River Council. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Communication at UTS, Kurt is also enrolled in the Company Director's Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
