Laura Avery

Laura Avery is an experienced social worker with a diverse background in mental health, child protection, and youth services. Currently serving as a MERIT Counsellor & Caseworker at Hunter New England Local Health District, Laura provides trauma-informed care and conducts assessments for participants in a drug rehabilitation program. Previous roles include Child Protection Caseworker at NSW Department of Communities and Justice, Therapeutic Youth Worker at Lifestyle Solutions (Aust) Ltd., and Social Work Student with various organizations, where Laura has garnered extensive knowledge in child welfare and mental health. Laura holds a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) from the University of Newcastle and is pursuing a Master of Youth Mental Health at the University of Melbourne.
