Sean Byrne

Biomechanist at NSW Institute of Sport

Sean Byrne is an accomplished biomechanist with extensive experience in sports science and education. Currently serving at the NSW Institute of Sport since February 2022, Sean has previously held positions as a Senior Biomechanist and Football Movement Specialist at Aspire Academy from April 2018 to July 2021. Prior to that, Sean contributed as a Motor Control Tutor at The University of Western Australia from 2015 to April 2018 and engaged as a Post Graduate Scholar in Biomechanics at the Australian Institute of Sport in 2013. Additionally, tutoring roles at the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2012 focused on Anatomy and Coaching Science. Sean's academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomechanics and Motor Control from The University of Western Australia and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biomechanics from the University of the Sunshine Coast.
