Rod Maxwell is an experienced professional in the field of special effects makeup and prosthetics, currently serving as the Prosthetic Innovation Lead at The Walt Disney Studios for the live action film “Moana” since June 2023. As the founder of Screaming Images since June 1993, Rod has focused on digital and practical effects consulting and education, also creating the “Flesh Master” color theory educational game for iOS and Apple Vision Pro. Additional roles include being an Innovation Lead for Prime Video & Amazon Studios on "Red One" and for Marvel Studios as part of an Oscar-nominated makeup team. Rod has also contributed as a special effects educator at the Cinema Make Up School, a teacher at the Brian Reise Acting Studio, and has previously been involved in creating characters for video games such as Earthworm Jim 2. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University.
