Tim La Mar

Tim La Mar has over 30 years of work experience in various technical roles. Tim started their career in the United States Army as a Soldier from 1984 to 1988. After that, they worked as a Network Admin at Price Waterhouse Coopers from 1997 to 1998 and at GLOBAL ICC from 1998 to 2000. Following this, they joined Bayshore Technologies as a Senior Technical Consultant from 2000 to 2013. Tim then worked at Vology as a Senior Technical Consultant from 2013 to 2015. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Technical Support Engineer at Big Sur Technologies. After that, they worked as a System Administrator at ConnectWise from 2016 to 2017. Currently, they are employed at NTG (Northern Technologies Group, Inc.) as a System Engineer since 2017.

Tim La Mar earned an Associate of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from ITT, which they attended from 1988 to 1990. In addition to their formal education, Tim has obtained several certifications throughout their career. These include the Fortinet Network Security Expert Level 1: Certified Associate, Fortinet Network Security Expert Level 2: Certified Associate, and Fortinet Network Security Expert Level 3: Certified Associate which they obtained in August 2021. Tim also obtained the VMware Certified Professional 6 - Data Center Virtualization certification in February 2019 and the VTSP - SV (Server Virtualization 2015) and VTSP - Hybrid Accreditation certifications from VMware in January 2016 and June 2015 respectively. Tim has further certifications such as the NTSP "Nimble Technical Sales Professional" from Nimble Storage in March 2015, VCP5-DCV (VCP550D) from VMware in March 2015, STS Symantec Technical Specialist Backup Exec 2014 from Symantec in June 2014, and STS Symantec Technical Specialist Backup Exec 2012 from Symantec in February 2013. Earlier in their career, Tim acquired certifications including VTSP - MO (Management Operations 5) from VMware in June 2012, VCP5-DCV Exam (VCP510) from VMware in February 2012, VCP4-DCV Exam from VMware in December 2009, and VCP on VMware Infrastructure 3 from VMware in March 2009. Additionally, they obtained the DATTO CERTIFIED Advanced Technician certification from Datto, Inc. in April 2016. Tim also holds certifications such as A+ from CompTIA, CCNA from Cisco, MCITP: Enterprise Messaging Administrator on Exchange 2007 from Microsoft, MCITP: Enterprise Messaging Administrator on Exchange 2010 from Microsoft, and MCSE1: Windows Server 2003 from Microsoft, although the specific dates of completion for these certifications are not provided.
