Christian Rye Thomsen

Christian Rye Thomsen has work experience in both industry and academia. Christian started working at nTopology in 2018 and currently holds the position of Staff Software Engineer since October 2021. Prior to this role, they worked as a Software Engineer, specializing in Physics and Optimization from April 2018 to October 2021.

Before joining nTopology, Christian worked as a Research Assistant at DTU - Technical University of Denmark in 2017. During this time, they developed a framework in Matlab for performing strength optimization of lightweight periodic lattice structures. Their tasks included implementing a simulation tool to predict stability using the finite element method and deriving and implementing an efficient optimization algorithm based on adjoint sensitivity analysis.

Christian Rye Thomsen completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering at DTU - Technical University of Denmark from 2012 to 2015. Christian then pursued their Master of Science (MSc) in Engineering Design and Applied Mechanics at the same institution from 2015 to 2017.
