Fabian Melchers

Fabian Melchers is an experienced podcast host and film critic, currently working as a podcast host at Avondje Uit since July 2024, where weekly discussions about film and theater take place. Since March 2013, Melchers has contributed as a freelance film critic and journalist for De Telegraaf, providing reviews and interviews for the Netherlands' largest daily newspaper. Additional roles include serving as the chief editor for Kanosport at Watersportverbond since February 2021, and as a reporter for NU.nl's entertainment section since October 2018, while also producing scientific texts aimed at children for Zo Zit Dat since November 2020. As an interviewer for CineSud, Melchers creates monthly podcasts and video interviews with film directors. Furthermore, Melchers has experience writing catalog descriptions for the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam and the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Film and Television from Utrecht University and a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, Film and Television sciences from Universiteit Utrecht.
