Karel Van Acoleyen

Karel Van Acoleyen has a diverse work experience in the field of photonics design engineering and data engineering. Karel started their career at Ghent University as a Doctoral Researcher, focusing on investigating the use of silicon photonics for wireless data communication. Karel then moved on to ON Semiconductor, where they worked as a Product Engineer, managing engineering requirements and ensuring the production of high-quality products.

After that, Karel joined Huawei Technologies Research and Development Belgium NV as a Senior Photonics Design Engineer. During their time there, they contributed to the design and development of photonics technologies.

Karel then transitioned to Indigo, where they held the role of Principal Photonics Design Engineer. In this position, they took on various responsibilities, including designing photonics layouts, developing test setups and software, and analyzing and reporting data. Karel also led the firmware development for sensor firmware and guided testing and verification activities.

Karel's next professional experience was at Sentia Belgium, part of Accenture, where they worked as a Data Engineer. Here, they utilized their expertise in data analysis and engineering to drive insights and support decision-making.
