Marco Lamponi has a wealth of experience in the field of photonics. Marco began their career in 2007 with an internship at ONERA. In 2008 they had an internship at Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh and was also a Research Engineer at Bell Labs. From 2012 to 2014, they were a Research Engineer at Thales, responsible for the design and process development of InP and GaAs based photonic integrated circuits. Marco then moved to Huawei Technologies, where they worked as a Team Leader Photonics Design and Senior Photonics Design Engineer until 2020. In 2020, they became the CEO and founder of Colorlife Technology and also took on the role of Director of Photonic Integration and Founding Member and Photonics Design Leader at Nubis Communications.
Marco Lamponi began their education in 2002 when they earned a B.Sc in Engineering Physics from Politecnico di Milano. From 2005 to 2008, they obtained an M.Sc in Engineering Physics from Politecnico di Milano and an M.Sc in Microelectronic Engineering from CentraleSupélec. In 2007, they also obtained a Master in Nano Science and Micro-systems from Paris-Sud University (Paris XI). Finally, from 2008 to 2012, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Hybrid III-V on silicon lasers for telecommunication applications from Paris-Sud University (Paris XI). Additionally, from 2010 to 2011, they attended an entrepreneurship and innovation bootcamp at ESCP Business School.
