Michael Chen is the founder and CEO of Nuclera. Michael was previously a graduate student at the National Institutes of Health, where they were mentored by Dr. Adrian R. Ferré-D’Amaré, and the University of Cambridge, where they were mentored by Professor Sir Shankar Balasubramanian. Michael has also interned at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, where they were mentored by Dr. Sarah Hearne, and been a researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they were mentored by Professor Nicholas V. Hud, and Emory University, where they were mentored by Professor David G. Lynn.

Michael Chen received a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge. Michael also holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to their studies at the university level, they completed a High School Diploma with an IB Diploma from Campbell High School.
