Lead Database Operations Engineer at Nucleus Security

Albert Lau has worked in the technology industry for over 14 years. Albert began their career in 2007 as an Associate Software Engineer at System Innovators and then moved on to become a Technical Support Representative - Intern. In 2011, they joined PaySpan, Inc. as a Database Administrator where they managed Development, QA, Test and Production SQL Servers and maintained HIPPA Compliant Database. Later that year, they joined Harris Computer Systems / System Innovators - iNovah as a Senior Implementation Engineer, Database Administrator and Project Manager. In 2017, Albert Lau became Vice President of Jacksonville SQL Server Users Group and also worked as a Data Migration Consultant at Coastal Cloud. Finally, in 2022 they began working as Lead Database Operations Engineer at Nucleus Security. In this role, they served customers including the US Government, Europe and Australia, and utilized SingleStore (previously MemSQL), MySQL technologies and syntax, Linux and AWS S3 Storage. Albert also worked with Infrastructure and Operational Teams and built SingleStore Cluster on Local Machine using Docker for Desktop and Kubernetes.

Albert Lau began their educational journey at Daytona State College, where they obtained an Associates of Arts in Accounting/Business Administration in 2003. Albert then attended the University of North Florida, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Science. In 2012, they obtained a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification in Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance.
