Russell Spitler

Russell Spitler is the Co-Founder and CEO of Nudge Security. Russell was previously the AVP Product at AT&T Cybersecurity, and before that, the SVP Product at AlienVault.

At AT&T Cybersecurity, Russell was responsible for product strategy and roadmap for the product portfolio, including USM, MTDR, MSSP, Cyber Strategy & Risk, Next Generation Network Security, and OTX product lines. Russell was also responsible for the Cyber Accelerator program, cross portfolio product strategy, and development of the cross portfolio orchestration platform.

At AlienVault, Russell was responsible for giving customers the very best threat detection and response. Russell oversaw the development of the AlienVault Unified Security Management platform, which combined key security capabilities with expert threat intelligence that was updated every 30 minutes with data from the Open Threat Exchange. Russell also founded AlienVault Labs, which analyzed an immense amount of data submitted to OTX by participants from all over the world.

Russell has experienced firsthand just how frustrating and challenging security can be – the struggles with failing SIEM implementations; having to settle for inadequate security due to budget constraints; shelving hundreds of thousands of dollars of security software because it is just too hard to use; and, of course, the aftermath of security breaches that could have been prevented. Russell founded Nudge Security to help organizations of all shapes and sizes achieve world-class security without the headaches and huge expense of other solutions.

Russell Spitler has a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Colby College.
