Mardi Witzel, MBA, ICD.D, GCB.D has diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles.

Starting in 1986, they worked as an Account Executive at J. Walter Thompson Worldwide. Mardi then transitioned to Wilfrid Laurier University, where they served as a Lecturer from 1992 to 1993.

Mardi Witzel, MBA, ICD.D, GCB.D has a strong educational background in business and management. In 1986, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Political Studies at Queen's University. Mardi then went on to obtain their Masters of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1991, with a focus on Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services.

In 2005, they started their Ph.D. in Management at Wilfrid Laurier University, specializing in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration. However, they did not complete the program.

Mardi Witzel has also pursued additional certifications to further enhance their knowledge and skills. In 2021, they completed the Directors Education Program at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management. This program aims to provide directors with essential governance knowledge and boardroom skills.

Mardi has obtained several certifications in recent years. In 2021, they completed the Board Oversight of Artificial Intelligence - Short Course offered by the Institute of Corporate Directors, which focuses on understanding the role of boards in overseeing AI technologies. Mardi also obtained the ESG Global Certificate and Designation from Competent Boards, demonstrating their knowledge and expertise in environmental, social, and governance issues. Additionally, they completed the ICD Directors Education Program provided by the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2022.
