Steve Martin is an accomplished professional in the biotechnology industry, currently serving as Head of Research and Development at NuKoKo since April 2024 and as a Consultant at Inspire Biotech, also since January 2024. Previously, Martin held the role of Chief Commercial Officer at Constructive Bio, where efforts were directed toward the commercialization of recoded genomes. As Chief Business Officer at Isomerase Therapeutics Ltd. from May 2016 to May 2023, Martin contributed to drug discovery and development focused on microbial natural products. Martin's career includes founding Inspire Biotech and led efforts as CEO at both ZuvaSyntha Ltd and Biosyntha Technology Ltd, fostering advancements in renewable chemicals and bespoke contract research, respectively. Earlier experience includes positions as R&D Director at TMO Renewables Ltd and Head of Fermentation at Cubist Pharmaceuticals. Martin obtained a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Surrey, where academic pursuits began in 1984.

Our founders Professor David Salt - professor emeritus, 35 years as an active research scientist, 179 research publications and 4 patents and all round cocoa research legend. Ross Newton & Kit Tomlinson - Two food entrepreneurs, who previously owned the incredibly popular confectionery brand, Mighty Fine. And succcesfullly exited in 2021.
