Charles Muchiri is a self-taught filmmaker hailing from Nairobi whose work touches on identity, community, and the journey to self-discovery. He is also the founder of an immersive storyteklling studio called NuMedium Studios. Proficient in both traditional (linear) and immersive mediums in non-profit organizations and the advertising world, he believes that immersive platforms are truly the future of tech and human synergy.
His award-winning work as director, editor, and visual effects artist has transcended borders, earning acclaim at prestigious venues such as the UN General Assembly, Stereopsia Lumiere Awards, Sheffield Doc Fest, XR Village at Doc Edge, and Virtuality XR Awards, where his piece 'The Forgotten Ones' got the coveted Social Impact Award.
A sought-after voice in the industry, Charles has engaged with the public on numerous occasions, sharing his insights as a speaker and contributing to esteemed jury committees, including Women in VR: Nairobi 2021, UN SDG Action Awards 2020, and Africa-Europe Week 2022.
