Charles Leahy

Charles Leahy is a seasoned professional in quantitative finance and software engineering, currently serving as Portfolio Manager, Senior Researcher, and Hedge Fund Engineer at Numerai since October 2021. Prior to Numerai, Charles was the Managing Director at System out Sound GmbH from April 2018 to September 2021, where bespoke software consulting services were provided. Charles has held several prominent roles, including CTO and Technology Lead at Hufsy in 2017, and Research Intern at Humboldt University of Berlin, where research focused on Multi-Class Support Vector Machines. Previously, significant contributions were made at Aspect Capital from 2009 to 2015 as a Senior Developer, responsible for deploying updates to trading strategies, and also worked as a Developer at Ocado and ST Microelectronics. Charles holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Applied Statistics and Operational Research from Birkbeck, University of London, and a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electronics and Computer Science from The University of Edinburgh.
