Neil Barclay has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Neil has held various roles throughout their career, starting as an Emergency Physician at the Royal Alexandra Hospital from 2003 to 2007. Neil then joined the Royal Columbian Hospital in 2007, where they served as a Trauma Team Leader and later as the Local Department Head for Emergency Medicine. In 2010, they joined the Fraser Health Authority and took on multiple leadership roles, including Executive Medical Director, Regional Medical Director for Emergency Medicine, and Site Medical Director. Barclay also worked at the Eagle Ridge and Royal Columbian Hospitals as an Emergency Physician. Neil'smost recent roles include serving as the Regional Medical Director for British Columbia at Numinus and as the Vice President of Product and Protocol.

Neil Barclay has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Cellular, Molecular and Microbial Biology from the University of Calgary, which they completed from 1992 to 1996. Neil then went on to earn a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Alberta between 1996 and 2000. Following that, they pursued a Family Medicine Residency Program at the University of Calgary from 2000 to 2002, receiving a CCFP degree. Additionally, they obtained a CCFP (EM) degree in Emergency Medicine from the University of Alberta from 2002 to 2003. In 2005, they completed a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London. More recently, in 2021, they participated in the Business Analytics: From Data to Insights Certificate Program at The Wharton School, focusing on data analytics.
