Jacob Miller has worked in a variety of roles related to data analysis and engineering since 2008. Jacob began their career as a Management Engineer at The Ohio State University Medical Center, where they helped manage labor management and hospital benchmarking systems. In 2010, they became a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The Ohio State University, instructing linear optimization and facility optimization classes. In 2011, they worked as an Operations Research Analyst for the U.S. Department of Energy, assisting in the development of a large linear programming model. From 2012 to 2017, they were a Senior Data Scientist and Data Scientist at Explorys, an IBM Company, where they were responsible for prototyping and developing analytic solutions for applications. Since 2017, they have been the Director of Foundational Informatics and Senior Data Scientist, Team Lead Platform Innovation at IBM Watson Health. In 2022, they began their current role as a Sr Staff Health Data Analyst at Nuna Inc.

Jacob Miller has a strong educational background. Jacob obtained a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2010 and an M.S. in Operations Research from The Ohio State University in 2011. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including a PMC Level I from Pragmatic Institute in August 2021, a Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) from INFORMS in January 2016, a Cloudera Certified Developer for Apache Hadoop (CCDH) from Cloudera, and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from The Ohio State University.
