James Fang

James Fang is a Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in automotive and consumer electronics industries. Currently working at Nuro since November 2021, James is responsible for the development of LR cameras, LR lidar, and thermal camera modules. Prior to this role, James contributed to Apple's Depth Camera Team from January 2020 to November 2021, where focus was on TrueDepth camera modules for iPhone 12, 13, and 14 series. As a founding member at Seyond (formerly Innovusion) from March 2017 to January 2020, James played a key role in iterating three generations of ToF Lidar products, developing mechanical architecture for the Falcon model integrated within the Nio ET series. James began the professional career as a Product Design Engineer Intern at Oculus VR in mid-2016. Academically, James holds a Master's Degree in Product Design from Stanford University and Bachelor's Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Hong Kong and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
