Xiang Lu

Xiang Lu is a seasoned software engineer specializing in mapping and localization, currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Nuro since July 2024. Previously, Xiang held the position of Manager for ADAS/AD Mapping, Localization & Navigation at Faraday Future from October 2021 to July 2025, and worked as a Lead Software Engineer at VINFAST from August 2020 to October 2021. Additionally, Xiang has experience as a Research Scientist & Development Manager at EFY Intelligent Control (Tianjin) Technology Co., Ltd from July 2015 to August 2020, and as a Research Fellow at the University of Michigan from August 2018 to March 2020. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Intelligent Robotics Technology, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Automation Engineering from Nankai University, a year as a Visiting Scholar in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering at Rutgers University, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Intelligent Science and Technology from Nankai University.
