Xiaojie Zhang

Xiaojie Zhang is an accomplished technical lead manager specializing in autonomy systems and machine learning, currently leading the Onboard System team at Nuro since March 2020. Previously, Xiaojie served as a staff tech lead at Uber, focusing on reaction time and latency in self-driving vehicles, and held the position of Director of AI Engineering at exaAI Inc., where an AI supercomputing platform was developed. Xiaojie's earlier experience includes key roles in algorithm development at CNEX Labs and Tidal Systems, as well as senior engineering positions at Samsung Research America and Samsung Electronics, contributing significantly to advancements in wireless communication and data storage technologies. Xiaojie holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC San Diego, a Master’s degree from Seoul National University, and a Bachelor’s degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
