Susan Karda has a wide range of work experience across various industries. Susan has held executive positions in companies such as Nurse Next Door, where they were the Vice President of Operations and later the Chief Operating Officer. At lululemon, they served as the Director of Global Leadership Development and Manager of Learning and Development. Susan also worked at Aritzia as the Director of Learning and Development, where they built the foundational infrastructure for the department. Prior to that, they took a sabbatical with their family and sailed over 13,000 nautical miles on a sailing vessel. Susan has also worked at Vancity as the Manager of Organization Development and Learning, where they implemented a learning and development strategy and oversaw a successful department merger. Susan began their career at Gap Inc., where they held roles such as Human Resources Manager and District Manager. Throughout their career, Susan has demonstrated a strong focus on leadership development, training, and operational excellence.
Susan Karda completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science & Sociology at the University of Toronto from 1986 to 1989. Susan also obtained a Certificate in Indigenous Canada from the University of Alberta in 2021. Additionally, they completed various professional training programs, including Co-Active Coach Training from the Co-Active Training Institute in 2018, Yoga Teacher Training, Ayurveda, and Meditation from mind.ful.on in 2016, and Organization & Relationship Systems at Work (ORS@Work) from CRR Global in 2014. Susan has also pursued personal development certifications such as the Certified Professional Coach from Erickson College in 2004 and the Leadership Insights For Transformation (LIFT) Advanced Coaching Certification from Ivey Business School in 2019. Further, they have attained additional certifications in mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and neuroscience. Currently, Susan is pursuing The Awareness Training Institute and Greater Good Science Center certification from the University of California, Berkeley.
