Director of Career Advancement at NurseDash

Melissa Mills, MHA, BSN has over 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Melissa began their career in 2010 as Manager of Clinical Services at American Mercy Home Care, where they were responsible for ensuring accuracy of nursing documentation on OASIS assessments before transmitting to Medicare and other payers, as well as oversight of nursing and scheduling staff members and ensuring regulatory compliance with CMS, ODH and Joint Commission. In 2013, they became Director of Professional Services at Caregivers Health Network. In 2014, they joined Sheakley UniComp as Director of Case Management, where they were responsible for leading and training the case management team overseeing Ohio BWC claims, as well as writing, revising and maintaining all of the policies, procedures, job aides and orientation materials for the Case Management department. In 2017, they started their own business, Melissa Mills Writing, where they create and edits content for continuing education courses and blogs aimed at training and workforce management. In 2019, they joined NextStep as Director of Lab & Clinical Operations, where they led instruction, training, and evaluation operations and trained and led a team of more than 20 nurses, operations and support staff by creating and improving processes and leading quality assurance operations. Melissa also worked as a Nurse Consultant & Technical Writer, creating educational content for long-term healthcare workers and conducting primary research to ensure that skills created for the certified nursing assistant course were evidence based and current. In 2022, they became Director of Career Advancement at NurseDash, where they are building a Career Advancement Program in collaboration with the founder and co-founder of the company. Melissa conducts research, builds processes, and builds stakeholder relationships to build and scale the program.

Melissa Mills completed their Associates Degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse at Clark State College between 1996 and 1998. Melissa then went on to pursue their Bachelors of Science of Nursing at Chamberlain University from 2010 to 2011. Finally, they obtained their Masters of Healthcare Administration from the University of Cincinnati between 2014 and 2016.
