Nigel Kelly is a Mechanical Design Engineer at NuShores Biosciences LLC since September 2020, focusing on scaling production of NuCress(TM) Scaffolds and leading the “Factory in a Box” automation project. Concurrently, Nigel serves as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, contributing to a first-author publication on optimizing a novel coanda saucer platform for VTOL small-drone applications. Previous experience includes automation engineering at GIVANA TECH, LLC, where Nigel automated a plasma sputtering deposition system, as well as research assistant roles at the University of Arkansas involving the fabrication of thin films. Prior to these positions, Nigel was a Maintenance Technician at 3M and served as a Nuclear Machinists Mate in the US Navy, gaining extensive experience in operating and maintaining complex systems. Nigel holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and completed Navy Nuclear Power Training.
