Mike Tanton is a co-founder of the Living Skies Indigenous Basketball League, established in January 2021 as Saskatchewan’s first provincial-wide Indigenous youth basketball league, open to all athletes. Since May 2011, Mike has been part of Nutrien in a Mine Operations role on the Production Crew. From September 2016 to June 2024, Mike serves as Chef de Mission for Team Saskatchewan at the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) 2023 in Halifax, N.S. Prior experience includes over a decade at White Buffalo Youth Lodge as Director, Program Coordinator, and Youth Care Worker, from December 1999 to April 2011.
