Rezuwan Zakaria

Rezuwan Zakaria has a long and varied work experience in the fields of biotechnology, laboratory management, quality management, and research.

In 2021, they began working at Nutrition Technologies as the R&D (Biotechnology) Manager, where they work on precision fermentation and low-cost bioconversion of biomass to sustainable protein.

From 2018 to 2019, they were the Managing Director and Head of Laboratories at JTLab, where they managed the operation, P&L, strategic planning, budget planning, fund management, investor relation & new business venture.

In 2019, they became the Director & Co-founder of Citra Kesom, an entrepreneurial start up in the health, wellness & fitness sectors.

From 2014 to 2018, they were the Senior Vice President (R&D and Innovation) and Vice President (R&D and Innovation) at J-BIOTECH Group, where they revamped and remodeled the R&D management & operation for the company-wide practice.

From 2008 to 2014, they were the Head Of Quality Management and Lecturer at SEGi University & Colleges, where they established division-wide QMS for quality performance, tracking and records maintenance according to national regulatory and accreditation standards.

From 2002 to 2008, they were the Tutor (Chemistry), Research Assistant, and Laboratory Demonstrator at Universiti Putra Malaysia. Rezuwan collaborated with MPOB for the development of among the 1st palm-based nanomemulsion in the state, and was the recipient of research funding from Akademi Sains Malaysia (ASM) and UPM research fund.

From 2005 to 2008, they were the Postgraduate Researcher at Malaysian Palm Oil Board, where they worked on enzymatic synthesis of palm oil fatty acid esters, characterisation of their physicochemical properties, and application studies on the derivatives.

Rezuwan Zakaria's education history includes a Master of Science (MS) in Chemistry from Universiti Putra Malaysia, which they obtained between 2006 and 2008. Rezuwan also obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from the same university between 1999 and 2002, as well as a Matriculation in Life Sciences from the same university in 1998-1999.
