Scot Mente is a Principal Scientist at Nuvalent. Scot has over 17 years of experience in the field of research and development and has held various positions at different companies. Prior to joining Nuvalent, they worked as a Director at FORMA Therapeutics, Inc. and as a Senior Research Scientist at Pfizer Global Research. Their focus at Pfizer was directed towards support of therapeutic areas and the Hit-to-Lead group. Scot has also developed methods and models for ADME/Toxicity prediction for use in combinatorial library design and support of therapeutic areas. Models have been developed for, brain/plasma, metabolism, and QT interval prolongation. Scot Mente has a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Penn State University, earned in 1999. Their undergraduate degree is in Chemistry from Northern Arizona University, earned in 1993. Scot has also completed three Coursera courses: Drugs and the Brain, Computing for Data Analysis, and Interactive Programming in Python.
