Brendan Freeman

Brendan Freeman is an accomplished Environmental Economist currently leading the development of natural capital accounts at Nuveen, a TIAA company, since January 2024. Prior to this role, Brendan served as the Lead Analyst for the natural environment sector at the Climate Change Committee from January 2018 to January 2024, overseeing the natural environment chapter of the third UK Climate Change Risk Assessment. Brendan's earlier experience includes positions as a Senior Research Officer at the Office for National Statistics, a Senior Statistical Analyst at the Australian Bureau of Statistics, and roles in financial services and journalism. Brendan holds a Master's Degree in Environmental Management with a focus on Environmental Economics from The Australian National University and a Bachelor's Degree in Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School.
