Heather Plafcan

Heather Plafcan (McElwee) currently serves as the Head of Legal, Americas at Nuveen Natural Capital and has held various positions at Nuveen since January 2022, including Director of Legal Operations and Associate General Counsel. Prior to joining Nuveen, Heather worked as a Legal & Risk Officer at Westchester Group Investment Management, Inc. from August 2018 to December 2021 and as a Trust Officer at Regions Bank from July 2015 to July 2018. Heather Plafcan (McElwee) earned a Doctor of Law (JD) degree in Business Law from the University of Mississippi School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science and Government from Auburn University, with additional studies completed at the University of Cambridge.
