Josu Rubio Llona has a diverse work experience across various companies and roles. Josu started their career as a Particular Instructor for private English and Basque language lessons. In 2015, they worked with Iberdrola, managing user and customer interactions for the Smart Meter project. In 2016, they served as an Android Developer for 21 Buttons, followed by a role as CEO and CTO of Wannajob app from 2016 to 2017.
In 2017, Josu joined Imagine Creativity Center as a Dreamer in Imagine Express. Josu also participated in the Yuzz - Young People with Ideas startup boost program during the same year. Later, in 2017, they worked at Wide Eyes Technologies as a Lead Front-end Engineer, developing both front-end applications and back-end services. Josu gained experience in AWS services such as EC2, EC2 container services, Lambda, and S3.
From 2017 to 2018, Josu worked at Innofis as a Frontend Developer, focusing on ReactJS, Angular 2/4, and Ionic for web and mobile applications. Josu took the lead on a front-end project, overseeing requirements, planning, and design. In 2018, Josu began working at Nuvolar Works as a Senior Frontend Developer, where they developed front-end apps using Angular 2+ and Redux, and also explored Salesforce backend concepts. In July 2020, they transitioned to the role of Frontend Tech Lead at Nuvolar Works.
Josu Rubio Llona completed a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2016. Prior to that, they studied Computer Game Development and Applied Computing at Wrexham University from 2014 to 2015. Josu also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Deusto from 2011 to 2015. Before starting their higher education, Josu attended Azkorri Ikastetxea from 2008 to 2010 and San Nikolas Ikastola from 1995 to 2008. In terms of additional certifications, Josu obtained a Skills For Life - Level 2 (C1) - Speaking and Listening certificate from Trinity ESOL in 2014, a First Certificate in English - Council of Europe Level B2 from the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations in 2014, a Título de Monitor de Tiempo Libre from Fundación EDE in 2014, a Permiso de Conducción B from DGT in 2012, and a Hirugarren maila (C1) euskara-agiria from HABE - Eusko Jaurlaritza in 2011.
