Gary R. Marcus

Gary R. Marcus, PE, F. ASCE, BCGE has a diverse and extensive work experience in geotechnical and civil engineering. Gary R. has worked in various roles and companies, including NV5 as a Vice President, where they managed construction and engineering projects in the field of geotechnics and civil works. Gary R. has also worked at Farmingdale State College as an Adjunct Assistant Professor, teaching courses on soil mechanics, foundation design, and earth pressure design. Additionally, they have held multiple roles at the American Society of Civil Engineers, including Diplomate in Geotechnical Engineering, Fellow, and Treasurer of the Met Section Geotech Group. Gary R. has also served as an Adjunct Professor at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, teaching graduate-level courses on lateral earth pressures and foundation engineering. Furthermore, they have significant experience as a geotechnical engineer at AKRF, Marcus Engineering, PLLC, NYC Department of Design and Construction, PS&S, and STV, where they worked on various geotechnical and civil projects for residential, commercial, institutional, and municipal facilities. Overall, they have a wide range of expertise and knowledge in the field of geotechnical engineering and has contributed to the development of various engineering projects in the Metropolitan New York Area and the Northeastern United States.

Gary R. Marcus, PE, F. ASCE, BCGE completed their education at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Gary R. earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering in 1996 and a Master of Engineering degree in Geotechnical and Structural Engineering in 1997. Prior to their college education, they obtained a High School Diploma from Chaminade High School in 1992. In addition to their academic achievements, Marcus has obtained numerous certifications including the OSHA 10-hr Construction Safety, OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER, and Professional Engineer (PE) licenses in several states such as Kentucky, Rhode Island, North Carolina, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Texas, among others.
