Axel Aerden

Axel Aerden has extensive experience in the field of education and quality assurance, currently serving as Managing Director Flanders at NVAO since 2017, where responsibilities include strategic development and organizational policy formulation. From 2014 to 2018, Axel was an elected member of the General Council of the European Association for International Education, contributing to the organization’s strategy and budget oversight. Prior to that, Axel held various roles at the European Consortium for Accreditation in higher education, NVAO, and other educational organizations, demonstrating a strong commitment to quality assurance and international education initiatives. Additionally, positions at Qrossroads, the Cabinet of the Minister of Education & Training, ESIB, and the Vlaamse Vereniging van Studenten contribute to a robust background in advisory and coordination roles within the educational sector.
