Dick Backus

Mr. Backus has advised NVE in finance and business matters since 2008. His expertise is built on more than 45 years of corporate management and consulting experience in organization and financial restructuring, business planning, budgeting, government contracting and crisis management.

Dick has specialized on financial and management methods with specialized knowledge of government contracting and information technology. He performed field audits for major banks providing lines of credit to government contractors and due diligence examinations of early stage technology companies for private investment firms. In turnarounds, recommended working capital and management modifications to generate and preserve cash.

He is an expert in management consulting, government contracting, business process re-engineering, business planning and budgeting and has a long successful track record of financial and capital management consulting. Dick was a Partner at the accounting firm of Coopers and Lybrand.

Mr. Backus holds a B.S. Pre-Engineering from Juniata College and a M.S. in Operations Research and Finance from Columbia University, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He also completed Doctoral Study at Cornell University, School of Engineering, and Computer Design and Programming, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
