David Luebke is the Vice President of Research at NVIDIA, a position held since July 2006, where David helped establish NVIDIA Research and currently leads graphics research activities, focusing on virtual and augmented reality, ray tracing, real-time rendering, and the application of machine learning to computer graphics. Prior to his role at NVIDIA, Luebke served as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Virginia from July 1998 to July 2006, earning multiple funding awards including the NSF CAREER award and the DOE Early Career PI award. Luebke holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as a B.A. in Chemistry from Colorado College.
