Martin Plenio

Martin Plenio has made fundamental contributions that shaped the development of the theory of entanglement and coherence as a resource, the development of quantum technologies and quantum biology. He has published around 350 papers in refereed journals which have received around 24000 citations and he is an ISI Highly Cited Researcher. His work was awarded several international research prizes including an Alexander von Humboldt Professorship. Martin Plenio has led major collaborative projects in quantum information and technology with budgets totalling more than €60 million, is a Corresponding PI for the €10 million ERC Synergy Grant “Diamond Quantum Devices and Biology” (BioQ), and led a team of professors from physics, chemistry and medicine to found the center of Quantum Bio-Sciences at Ulm University and win €27 million funding

for a state-of-the-art research building.
