Dermot joined the NVP Energy team in 2016, having worked on the technology for 10 years at the National University of Ireland, Galway where he co-invented it. Within his role as Technical Manager, Dermot is responsible for the design and technical aspects of the technology and coordinating the development of the technology given his unique, in-depth knowledge of the NVP Energy technology and processes. Dermot holds a PhD in Microbiology from the National University of Ireland, Galway since 2011. Dermot’s research involved two broad fields: (i) wastewater bioengineering including process technology and development and (ii) molecular microbial ecology. Dermot worked as a Post-Doctoral researcher through funding obtained though Enterprise Ireland on the use of low-temperature anaerobic digestion for the treatment of industrial wastewater streams and this research led to the development of the technology.
